Harley Place

Completed in 2016, this project is one we at Prospero are incredibly proud off. The project itself demonstrates how good coordination between all members of the design team can produce a building that is architecturally stunning with the building services blending in seamlessly. Commissioned by the Howard de Walden Estate the brief was to provide a very high end 3 bedroom, 4 storey residential property for the rental market. The property benefits from all LED lighting, whole house heat recovery (MVHR), solar thermal and underfloor heating. Working alongside Tim Bennett of SonnemannToon Architects, details like the plaster in shadow vents and the 3D light track elevated this property to winning the ‘Architecture Single Residence’ Award at the UK Property Awards 2016 and to feature in numerous magazines and on Deltalights website as a project for inspiration. The energy rating of the building was improved from F to B, through the use of high performance insulation, a highly efficient heating system, roof mounted solar panels, a Heat Recovery Unit and LED lighting throughout. The building is now warm, bright and energy efficient. The sensitive refurbishment has modernised a once tired building without losing the charm and external appearance of the original Mews property.
